How is Drive. different from other cloud storage services?
Drive. is built from the ground up with privacy as the foundation, not a feature. Every file you store — documents, photos, videos — is encrypted with AES-256 before it ever leaves your device. We use a zero-knowledge architecture, meaning we never have access to your encryption keys or your file contents. There are no ads, no data selling, and no scanning of your files. Most cloud storage services add encryption as an afterthought; Drive. is encryption-first by design.
How much does Drive. cost?
Drive. offers several subscription plans to fit your needs. All plans include AES-256 encryption, zero-knowledge architecture, and full cross-device sync.
- 16 GB — $2.99/month
- 64 GB — $4.99/month
- 256 GB — $5.99/month
- 512 GB — $7.99/month
- 1 TB — $12.99/month
Is there a free trial?
We occasionally offer free trials and promotional periods. Check the app or our website for current offers. All subscriptions come with a 14-day refund policy if you're not satisfied.
Can you read my files?
No. Drive. uses AES-256 encryption with a zero-knowledge architecture. Your files are encrypted on your device using a PIN-based encryption key that never leaves your device. We do not have access to the encryption keys, and we cannot decrypt or view your files even if compelled by law. This is a core architectural commitment, not a policy we can change.
What information does Drive. collect about me?
We collect only what is strictly necessary: your email address (for account creation and password recovery), your display name and optional profile picture, device information for push notifications, and anonymized usage metrics. We do
not
collect file contents, file metadata beyond what is needed for syncing, location data, or browsing data. See our
Privacy Policy
for details.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. All your stored files and data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. Files you have shared with other users may remain on their devices, as those copies are encrypted with keys we do not possess.
What happens if I lose my phone?
Since your encryption key is derived from your PIN and stored only in your device's secure hardware, we cannot recover your files if you lose your phone. This is a deliberate privacy protection — without your PIN, your files cannot be decrypted by anyone. You can delete your account remotely by contacting support to prevent future access.
Can I use Drive. on multiple devices?
Yes. Drive. supports secure cross-device sync. Your files are encrypted on each device and synced through encrypted channels. Your files remain unreadable to our servers during transit. Available on iOS and Android with seamless synchronization between devices.
How do you handle government data requests?
Because of our zero-knowledge architecture, we cannot provide file contents even when legally required to do so. We may disclose limited metadata (such as account creation date) when presented with a valid legal request. We notify affected users unless prohibited by law. Our
Transparency Report
details all government requests we receive.
Is Drive. open source?
Drive.'s cryptographic libraries and certain security-critical components are open source for community review. The full application code is currently proprietary. We are working toward making more of our code available for independent security auditing.
How do I report a bug or security issue?
For security vulnerabilities, please email security@drivedot.cloud. We operate a responsible disclosure program and welcome reports from security researchers. For general bugs, use the in-app report feature or email support@drivedot.cloud.
What third-party services does Drive. use?
We use a minimal set of infrastructure providers to operate the service. All are bound by strict data processing agreements. A complete list is available on our
Subprocessors
page.
